Gasoline and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas)

CNG Innovations of Minnesota is Minnesota’s #1 CNG Conversion Dealer specializing in fleet, commercial, gasoline.  CNG gasoline vehicle conversion.  Get CNG!

Our high quality conversion systems are the most advanced technology available in the USA today. Our system components comply with all US safety regulations including: Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, DOT, National Fire Protection Agency, CSA America & are EPA compliant.
Our Sequential CNG Injection system is able to convert most 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 cylinder vehicles. The difference with previous generation and competitors systems is that the CNG on board computer (ECU electronic control unit) takes information from the vehicles sensors and settings to calculate and produce similar power and torque with CNG. Most of our customers cannot tell the difference between gasoline and CNG operation of their vehicle.

Advantages

R
The change over to and from CNG/gasoline is automatic and it happens when the engine parameters are optimal. Any adverse condition that would prevent CNG from optimal functionality such as the CNG tank becoming empty will result in an automatic change over to gasoline. No action is needed by the driver to make the switch.
R
The CNG is injected in the same place where the gasoline would normally go. Older generation CNG systems that used a “mixer” to integrate CNG with air would make the CNG delivery inhomogeneous.  This would then result in the possibility of misfiring of the engine generating potential damage to it.
R
Since our sequential CNG system maintains the same conditions as the manufacturer intended, your vehicle will work under the same climate, terrain, and altitude conditions.
R
When it comes to emissions and contamination, our CNG system will deliver a significant reduction (up to 80%) in contaminants. This will extend the life of your engine components due to much cleaner combustion.

Our CNG System is Sequential

R
Sequential is the latest technology in CNG conversion.
R
The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) determines the timing in which the CNG injection will take place in the engine. The ECU reads the timing injection of gasoline and, once it switches to CNG, will advance the timing for optimal CNG combustion. Once a vehicle is converted to our sequential CNG system, the vehicle will not even realize it is running on an alternative fuel source.
R
While the engine control is made by the OEM computer, the CNG ECU also takes the information sends it to the gasoline injectors and translates it into CNG for its own CNG injectors.
R
The gasoline and CNG injectors, through their control modules, work seamlessly to determine the right time to switch from one to the other.

How Does It Work?

t
1.) When the engine starts, it operates in gasoline mode briefly.
2.) Upon reaching the optimal working temperature (warms up) it will take all the ECU readings in order to switch to CNG. At that time the gasoline injectors shut off and the ECU commands the CNG injectors to feed into the cylinders.
3.) While the engine warms up in gasoline mode, the CNG ECU reads all the gasoline injection timing and translates it into CNG timing to make CNG combustion optimal.
4.) The CNG pressure reducer and temperature sensors are part of our system and produce signals for the CNG ECU to make the functionality of the system OPTIMAL.
